Important Upcoming Dates

Math Placement Test/Tour: Tuesday, 8/14/18 at 9:00 AM-  This is only for new students who moved in over the summer.  

New Student Orientation: Friday, 8/17/18 from 1-2:15 PM- This is only for new 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who moved in over the summer. 

6th Grade Open House: Monday, 8/20/18 at 6:00 PM- For all 6th grade students and parents.  

First Day of School: Wednesday, 8/22/18 from 8:50 AM- 4:00 PM- All students. 

Farewell to the DMS Retirees of 2018

Yesterday afternoon we were able to celebrate three of Discovery’s finest educators.  These three women are about to begin a new chapter and we wish them nothing but the best for their retirement.  

 

Mary Keller has been with Discovery since 2002 and has 18 total years with PHM. 

 

Mary Ann Saoud has been with Discovery since 1996 and has 26 years total with PHM.

 

Sandy Zane has been with Discovery since 2008 and has 28 years total with PHM.

 

PTO-sponsored AIM High Rewards Program

AIM High RewardsThese students were recipients of the PTO-sponsored AIM High Rewards Program.  Discovery students have the opportunity to collect teacher signatures on an Archer Card.  The teacher signs the card when they witness a student with positive behavior, completing a good deed, or any other action that truly encompasses the school mission.  These completed Archer cards can be used for different incentives through out the school year.  Today students placed their full c

We have just 42 yearbooks left for purchase.  They will be distributed on June 4th.

Online sales end on May 30th at 11:59pm.  We sold out last year. First come, first serve.  If your order is placed AFTER we sell out, your credit card will be refunded.

Final DC Meeting- Come Hear All The Details

 

 

Parents of 8th graders attending the DC Trip,

You are invited to come to an informational meeting that will give details for the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. including; itinerary, responsibilities expected of the students, medicines, and answering any final questions you may have.  We have also met with the students in school to go over this same information. 

 

 

This meeting will be held at two different times
 

7:45 A.M.     or      4:20 P.M.

Honor Roll Picture Information

Recognition Breakfast will be in the Cafeteria on Thursday, April 19th at 7:30AM.

Pictures for the 4.0 students will be immediately after the breakfast.

 

Pictures for High Honor Roll students will be on Friday, April 20th.  High Honor Roll students need to report to the gym right after they get off the bus.

ISTEP Testing Schedule

Week One 4/16-4/20--- Language Arts Testing 

Monday- No testing, regular READ schedule

Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday- Students will test in their LA classes and everyone will follow a NO READ schedule. 

Friday- Make up testing, regular READ schedule

 

Week Two 4/23-4/27--- Math Testing

Monday- Make up testing, regular READ schedule
