Discovery will be hosting 21 students and 7 teachers/administrators from Anshan, China, January 18-22nd. We will welcome our guests Friday morning at an 8:00 AM breakfast here at the DMS cafeteria. They will then get to spend the remainder of the day visiting our PHM middle schools. On Friday afternoon at 4:10 PM DMS will host a family get together in our commons for the guests, host families, and other PHM students who have previously traveled to China.
Discovery Middle School kicked off the holiday season with the Holiday Music Ensemble on Tuesday, Dec. 19, featuring band, choir and orchestra.
The three groups put their musical talents on display for the standing-room-only crowd.

In the fall of 2015, P-H-M distributed 1:1 Chromebooks to all 2,500 middle schoolers at P-H-M’s three middle schools, Discovery, Grissom and Schmucker! This was in addition to the 3,500 students at Penn High School who received them in 2014 school year. More than half of P-H-M’s student population uses this valuable educational tool as part of P-H-M’s strategic technology goals.

Mark your calendars for the 12th Annual Silver Mile Run for Education & Health and Fitness Fair, hosted by the P-H-M Education Foundation. This popular fun-filled family event will take place on Saturday, May 6, from 8:30 a.m. – noon at Penn High School.
Things got a little out of hand Friday, March 24 when Wellness teacher Chad Hershberger got his just “reward” for helping to raise the most money for Discovery’s National Junior Honor Society fundraiser for Granger Paths.

For months, P-H-M administrators, teachers, coaches and staff have been busy planning all the camps and activities that will be available for students when school lets out this year on Wed., June 7, 2017.
