The IDOE released the 2017-18 Accountability grades on Wednesday, November 14 and once again the Indiana Department of Education has recognized the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation as an “A” rated school district! Along with the district’s “A” rating, Discovery Middle and six other schools also received “A” letter grades:

• Elsie Rogers Elementary School
• Horizon Elementary School
• Moran Elementary School
• Northpoint Elementary School
• Prairie Vista Elementary School
• Penn High School

Penn High School’s Drama Club will present “Boo Bash”  in the Studio Theater on Thursday, Oct. 25.

“Boo Bash” features two shows, and admission is free.

The first show, “Wren and Moose”, is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25. It is a 25-minute children’s Halloween show written by Penn High School student Kenny Collymore-Williams. After the show, there will be Halloween candy and a short meet-and-greet with the characters.

Students in Grades 3-8 and students enrolled in Biology at Penn will take ILEARN Indiana’s, new computer-adaptive standardized test, this spring (April 22 – May 17) replacing the state’s previous test, ISTEP+. The show schedule for the 2018-19 school year has been set, with the first show of the season kicking off on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 6:30. Click here for the full schedule.

School pictures will be taken on September 18^th and 19^th during health/gym classes.  

On September 18^th the following students will have their picture taken:

7^th grade girls, 6^th grade girls , 7^th grade boys 

On September 19^th the following students will have their picture taken:

6^th grade boys, 8^th grade boys, 8^th grade girls 

​This year Penn Harris Madison Schools is giving parents access to their student's online activities through Securly. 

The first day back for the school of the 2018-19 school year for Penn-Harris-Madison schools was Wednesday, August 22. Superintendent Dr. Jerry Thacker and Penn Principal Sean Galiher were up early to do live interviews on local South Bend TV stations.

Dr. Thacker then began his annual 15 schools in 3 days tour. Longtime Board Member Larry Beehler accompanied Dr. Thacker on the first two days. Take a look at their visits …

Attached you will find information that will be discussed at the two Canvas meetings at 6PM in the cafeteria prior to the open house.  The 6^th grade will have their open house on Monday, August 20^th and the 7/8^th grade students will have their open house on Wednesday, August 22^nd. We will have printed copies of this material at both meetings.  Feel free to look at it ahead of time.
