The Indiana Department of Education announced on Friday, May 26, 2017 the 2015-16 list of Four Star Schools and Discovery, along with eight other P-H-M schools, have earned that distinction--the most the District has ever had!

P-H-M's other Four Star Schools are Horizon, Madison, Mary Frank, Meadow's Edge, Northpoint, Penn, Prairie Vista and Schmucker. Meadow's Edge made the list for the first time; Meadow’s Edge is one of  P-H-M’s five Title 1 schools.

A Little Dose of Reality

On Friday, March 24, Discovery eighth graders received a little dose of “reality.”

Every school year the eighth grade students get a glimpse of what it is like to manage the aspects of adult life through an activity called the “Reality Store.” Students learn the details of their “grownup life” by pulling the information out of a hat: job, salary, married or single, etc.

Honors Science and Social Studies

Our Honors Science and Social Studies classes were a new addition to the Discovery curriculum this school year. Both have a high standard for student participation. Students are expected to participate in intellectual dialogue, critical thinking, reading and writing, collaborative and independent inquiry as well as teaching others. Applications are required for these courses and can be found here.
