DMS Students Dissecting Sheep's Brain

DMS 8th grade students recently dissected sheep brains in Project Lead the Way class. In Medical Detectives, students learned about the different structures of the brain and how the brain interacts with sensory organs to make sense of our world. The sheep brain is very similar to the human brain, but it also possesses some important differences. The purpose of dissecting a sheep brain is to explore the three dimensional structure of the brain as well as investigate how the spinal cord and major nerves connect to the brain.
