Discovery named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2013

Discovery Middle School is one of 286 schools recognized by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan as a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School. "Excellence in education matters and we should honor the schools that are leading the way to prepare students for success in college and careers,' said Secretary Duncan. The National Blue Ribbon Schools award honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in student achievement. Discovery was recognized as Exemplary High Performing as measured by state assessments or nationally-normed tests which makes it one of the highest performing schools in Indiana. This is the second time Discovery has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. The last time was in 2006. A recognition ceremony will be held in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 18-19.
