It's All About the Bass Bow Grant

Discovery Middle School Orchestra was the recipient of a grant from the Penn Education Foundation. The orchestra received a new string bass bow that made from carbon fiber. The carbon fiber is much lighter than the plastic bows we currently use. The lighter bow allows our top bass players to play with more detailed articulation and better resonance and response.
