Congrats to Mrs. Anne Tschetter on "Teacher of the Year" Honors

The Indiana Chapter of the American String Teachers Association has named Discovery’s own Anne Marie Tschetter as Middle School Teacher of the Year!  She received her honor in the company of her peers while participating at the association’s January 2016 Winter Conference.

As orchestra director at Discovery Middle School, Mrs. Tschetter has helped her students accomplish truly great things. She inspires and instructs them in their proficiency as musicians, and models and encourages them in their growth as young men and women.  And, of course, her students love her!

Mrs. Tschetter received her undergraduate degree in music education (B.M.E.) from Grand Valley State College and her graduate degree in music performance on viola (M.M.) from the University of Notre Dame. Mrs. Tschetter's students and orchestras have received Gold ratings in both Michigan and Indiana competitions, and With Distinction awards at Indiana State School Music Association competitions. She has grown the Discovery Middle School Orchestras in the past 20 years from a small new school program to the current 150+ orchestra members, including the addition of string and honors multi-age classes.
