Principal’s Welcome

As principal of Discovery Middle School I want to welcome you to our Four Star, National Blue Ribbon School filled with an incredible student body, devoted parents, supportive staff and extremely talented teachers!

Discovery Middle School has a rich history of academic, athletic and extracurricular excellence and a community of strong values.  We are the Discovery Archers and we A.I.M. High with Attitude, Integrity, and Make a Difference in order to build a safe, caring, and supportive environment because of our mission and drive towards excellence.  

DMS students are collaborative, innovative and compassionate global citizens that have opportunities to exchange and travel with partner schools in China.  Additionally students and teachers travel together on educational excursions to parts of Europe every other year and to Washington D.C. on an annual basis.

Additionally, we pride ourselves with embodying a diverse population with over 23 languages spoken and we also continually work to incorporate inclusive practices for all students and exceptionalities. Students are engaged in student-centered, creative, interactive, and project-based activities and courses that not only prepare them for the next step of their education at the high school, but beyond for both college and careers.

Literacy is the backbone of our school as we celebrate enrichment through a thirty-minute READ time each morning and the “One Book, One School” event that ignites excitement, passion, and unifies our community.
