October Newsletter

Parents,

It's October already and you should be receiving your invitation by mail to attend the Discovery Middle School Student-led Conferences during the evening of Monday, October 22 or Wednesday, October 24.  Please sign up to attend any time during the 5:00 - 8:15 PM time so that your child can conduct their conference with you.  Students will be working on a presentation with lots of information about themselves!

We have added Smores as our newletter delivery system this year and are sending some Friday notes home, too.  We keep these short and informative as we know your time is valuable.

Recently, the PHM Tech Department shared information that if you missed the deadline to enroll in the school Chromebook repair plan, you can still participate.  To do so, you will need to bring in the filled out repair plan form, payment, and your student's Chromebook for review.  The Chromebook must be damage free and in working order to participate in the repair plan.  The Repair Plan Form is on the website for your convenience.

Thank you all for helping with our school fundraiser...we set a new record for DMS sales!  ALL of these monies go directly toward student activities..academic competitions, extracurricular activities, and clubs.  Remember 8th graders could bank some money in their TRIP fund and our PTO will hold their Poinsettia sale yet this fall where a large percentage of the profit can also go into 7th and 8th graders TRIP funds.  We love our PTO partners!!

Fall sports are wrapping up and soon it will be basketball and wrestling seasons.  Our Spell Bowl team is spelling up a storm as they, too, prepare for regionals!  Additionally, music concerts will begin soon.  Thanks, parents for all your support with the concession stand and getting your students to/from practices and events!

Wishing you well,

Mrs. Sheryll Harper, principal
